Andy Stobie and the Greater Finger Lakes Jazz Orchestra

The Geneva Rec Department presents Andy Stobie's amazingly versatile big band as part of the 2010 summer concert series at the Gazebo on the Lake, Geneva. Formed in 2007, the Greater Finger Lakes Jazz Orchestra is a full size big band that features the best of musicians from the Finger Lakes area. You'll hear hits of the classic big band era, but also some dynamic contemporary hits from the libraries of Stan Kenton, Maynard Ferguson and Buddy Rich. In addition, you'll hear vocals by Andy with the band playing the authentic arrangements as recorded by Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble and Harry Connick, as well as Angie Bemus performing hits by divas such as Natalie Cole. On top of that, you'll hear hits by Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Chicago, and other horn band favorites. Get ready for a powerhouse performance! The concert is free to everyone. You are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the show, with beautiful Seneca Lake providing the backdrop. Rain location is the Geneva Recreation Complex on the south end of Exchange Street.
